Abstract: This report documents findings from a cognitive interviewing study done by the Questionnaire Design Research Laboratory (QDRL) to examine questions for the 2015 NHIS (National Health Interview Survey) Cancer Control Supplement. The supplement is sponsored by the National Cancer Institute. Testing took place at the National Center for Health Statistic (NCHS) between April and June, 2014. The questions cognitively tested focused largely on general health, risk behaviors, cancer screenings, and medical tests. Topics include physical activity, sun protection/indoor tanning, breast cancer, cervical cancer, lung cancer, prostate cancer, colorectal cancer, genetic testing for cancer risk, family history of breast cancer/ovarian cancer and non-cigarette tobacco use.
