In cross PRNT with 42 flaviviruses WSL gave a completely monospecific response [4] . Placed in the West Nile serological subgroup [5] . In a later study, 60 registered and 5 unregistered flaviviruses were tested against antibody to WSL virus in PRNT. The antibody did not cross-react with other flaviviruses, such that WSL virus could not be assigned to a given complex in group B [40] .
