beakers The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Division of Laboratory Systems (DLS) has sponsored the Laboratory Medicine Best Practices (LMBP™) Initiative to address the need for a systematic, multidisciplinary, comprehensive, and transparent approach to identifying, evaluating, and recommending best practices for the field. The LMBP™ initiative aims to:

  • Conduct systematic reviews to assess the effectiveness of quality improvement practices
  • Provide a central source of information on the comparative effectiveness of laboratory medicine practices
  • Facilitate a network for the exchange of information on effective laboratory practices
