Severe Nonfatal Injuries & Illnesses (2021-2022) Charts
Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), Survey of Occupational Injuries and Illnesses (SOII)

Recently, the Bureau of Labor Statistics changed how often they release the severe non-fatal injury and illness data. These data are now released every other year. Learn more. Because of this, we now have two separate datasets for severe non-fatal injury and illnesses. Additionally, the “Days Away from Work” data have been expanded to also include “Days of Job Transfer or Restriction”, and “Days Away, Restricted or Transferred”. Note: 2020 was the last year the data were collected yearly. The most recent data include a reference period of 2 years. For example, 2021-2022 includes cases from both years.
