and NNYFS 2012.

The drug use questionnaire (variable name prefix DUQ) focused on lifetime and current (past 30 days) use of marijuana or hashish. These questions were asked in the NHANES National Youth Fitness Survey (NNYFS) and of NHANES participants aged 3 to 15 years, during the second year of the 2011-2012 NHANES cycle.
Participants aged 12-15 years were eligible for NNYFS and 12-69 years for NHANES 2012. Only data from participants aged 12-15 years old are included in this file with limited access.
The Drug use questionnaire was administered at the Mobile Examination Center (MEC) during the MEC Interview. For Youths 12-15 years, questions were self-administered using the Audio Computer-Assisted Self-Interviewing (ACASI) system. The ACASI was conducted in either English or Spanish. The ACASI enables respondents to hear questions through earphones as well as read questions on the computer screen. Respondents moved at their own speed and touched the screen to indicate their response. No proxy respondents or translators were used in situations when the respondents could not self-report. However, for NNYFS 2012, questions were administered using the Computer-Assisted Self-Interviewing (CASI) system. The CASI enables respondents to read questions on the computer screen. Respondents moved at their own speed and touched the screen to indicate their response.
