Abstract: This report summarizes the findings of the cognitive evaluation of questionnaire items on the forthcoming 2016 National Ambulatory Medical Care Survey (NAMCS) Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services (CLAS) supplement. The NAMCS CLAS supplement was designed as a self-administered paper questionnaire to assess office-based physicians’ training, awareness, and organizational policies related to CLAS. The NAMCS CLAS supplement will be a national survey conducted by the National Center for Health Statistics’ (NCHS) Division of Health Care Statistics (DHCS), and is sponsored by the Office of Minority Health (OMH), Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).
