Pease International Tradeport (Portsmouth, NH) Community Assistance Panel Meeting

The Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR), a federal public health agency, will hold a Community Assistance Panel (CAP) meeting open to the public on May 30, 2017. The meeting is from 6-9 pm at 222 International Drive, Suite 175, Conference Room A, Portsmouth, NH 03801.

ATSDR is evaluating the public health impact of drinking water contaminated with Perfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) at the Pease site and nearby wells. These meetings are a way for the community to better understand what ATSDR is doing.

CAP members work with ATSDR to gather and review community health concerns, provide information on how people might have been exposed to hazardous substances, and help guide ATSDR on how to involve the community.

The Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will hold a community information session to discuss the upcoming Pease Study. The study will evaluate the human health effects of exposure to the human-made chemicals per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in drinking water at the Pease International Tradeport in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. The meeting provides community members with the opportunity to ask questions and better understand the study, as well as find out if they are eligible to participate and sign up.
