Former workers who processed vermiculite from a mine in Libby, Montana at a plant in Glendale, California were exposed to asbestos and are at increased risk for developing asbestos related health problems, says a health consultation released today by the federal Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR).

The final public health assessment for the Edwards Air Force Base NPL site in Southern California finds that no adverse health effects are expected from exposures to arsenic in the water supply system, to chemical warfare materiel in subsurface soil, or to aerial dioxin releases from remediation systems.
