|Molecular Weight of Agent||LMW|
|Agent Category||Other Chemicals|
|Specific Agent||Reactive dye|
|Occupation|| Not specified|
|Activity Intervention|| Removal from exposure to reactive dye.
First and second follow-up examinations were conducted at 4.3(2.3) and 13.7(2.3) years (means (SD)) after the initial examinations.
|Participation Rate||Limitation: no report of participation rate.
There were a total of 11 patients with reactive dye induced occupational asthma enrolled in this study.
|Intervention Effectiveness||1. There is no significant improvement after patients were completely removed from exposure to RD over a 10-year period.
2. Reduced lung function did not recover after the cessation from exposure and proper pharmacological treatment.
3. Asthma severity and non-specific airway hyper-responsiveness to methacholine also did not improve over a period of 10 years, although skin reactivity to reactive dye almost disappeared over this time-frame.
