Intervention EffectivenessThickness of reticular basement membrane was reduced in all subjects (n=6) at follow-up (p<0.05), to values similar of those for non-asthma control subjects (n=4). Changes in inflammatory cell numbers were not statistically significant. Airway hyperresponsiveness persisted at follow-up in most subjects despite absence of symptoms.
