Abstract: This report documents findings from a cognitive interview evaluation of the Donor Risk Assessment Interview (DRAI) for a donor greater than12 years old conducted by the Questionnaire Design Research Laboratory at the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) in collaboration with the Office of Blood, Organ, and other Tissue Safety, Division of Healthcare Quality Promotion, CDC in collaboration with the American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB). Additionally, the DRAI had been developed by these groups with input from experts from appropriate government agencies such as the Food and Drug Administration (FDA)/Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research (CBER) at the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA)/Division of Transplantation, committees representing the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS), and professional societies such as the Association of Organ Procurement Organizations (AOPO), Eye Bank Association of America (EBAA), NATCO (the organization for transplant professionals), the American Society of Transplantation (AST), and the American Society of Transplant Surgeons (ASTS).
