Violation: The records for potable water, swimming pools and whirlpools, and integrated pest management were very organized and the personnel were very knowledgeable.

Site: DO NOT USE (whirlpool/spa)-Machinery Room for Open Deck Whirlpools
Violation: The distance between the vent for the backflow prevention device and the drain pipe was less than two pipe diameters. The drain pipe was hard plumbed to the gray water system.
Recommendation: Ensure that air gaps are at least twice the diameter of the delivery fixture opening and a minimum of 3 cm (1 inch).

Violation: The potable water lines to the handwash sink were not striped blue.
Recommendation: Ensure that potable water piping and fittings are painted or stripped auxiliary blue, or in accordance with ISO 14726, at 5 m (15 feet) intervals on each side of partitions, decks, and bulkheads in all spaces, except where the decor would be marred by such markings.

Violation: There was a valve at the end of the hose that was attached to the bucket filling faucet below the handwash station. The faucet had a non-continuous pressure vacuum breaker.
Recommendation: Remove the valve on the hose or install a continuous pressure backflow prevention device.

Site: Potable Water-List of Backflow Prevention Devices
Violation: The comprehensive list of backflow prevention devices did not contain the devices attached to the shower hoses in the passenger cabins.
Recommendation: Ensure that the cross-connection control program includes at minimum: a complete listing of cross-connections and the backflow prevention method/device for each, so that there is a match to the plumbing system component and location, and an inspection frequency. Repeat devices such as toilets can be grouped under a single device type.

Violation: The vent for the backflow prevention device located on the carbonation unit was not oriented in a downward position.
Recommendation: Turn the backflow prevention device vent down to allow for proper drainage.

Site: Recreational Water Facilities-Fecal Accident Plan
Violation: The fecal accident plan incident log did not include the free residual halogen level used for disinfection. The log did contain the quantity of chlorine added.
Recommendation: Ensure that a written or electronic record of all fecal accidents is maintained. Ensure that the record includes the pool name, date and time of the incident, response steps taken, free residual halogen level achieved following cleaning, and contact times.

Violation: The internal upper cover of the microwave was missing, making cleaning difficult.
Recommendation: Replace the missing cover.

Violation: Minor recessed grout was noted between the stainless steel scupper and the deck tiles.
Recommendation: Ensure that decks, bulkheads, and deckheads in food preparation, warewashing, pantries, and storage areas are constructed and maintained for easy cleaning.
