The Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR),
announces the release of the Health Consultation for Woonasquatucket River and Centredale

ATSDR representatives will present the consultation findings to the public and be
available to answer questions on Wednesday, June 16, and Thursday, June 17 from 2:00 -
4:00 p.m. and 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. at the North Providence Town Hall, Council Chambers (2nd
floor), 2000 Smith Street, North Providence. In early 1999, ATSDR was petitioned to
evaluate the potential impact on human health of dioxin in the Woonasquatucket River.
ATSDR is a public health agency under the Department of Health and Human Services that is
responsible for preventing or reducing the harmful human health effects of exposure to
hazardous substances.
A press conference will be held to review findings of the health consultation
