The Agency for Toxic Substances andDisease Registry (ATSDR), a public health agency of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, will hold a community meeting in Anniston, Alabama, to discuss health issues related to the PCB site in west Anniston.
The meeting will take place on Thursday, February 17, 2000, from 6:30 until 9:00 p.m. at the Anniston City Meeting Center, 1615 Noble Street, Anniston, AL.
The community meeting will provide members of the community with an opportunity to express their health concerns related to polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) at the site, and to discuss future ATSDR activities. ATSDR is committed to keeping community members informed about the agency's activities related to the site, and to working with the community prior to taking any formal action.
Representatives from ATSDR will be on hand to discuss the agency's conclusions about the blood analysis and soil analysis information ATSDR received from the community and from EPA. ATSDR will also provide information on PCBs and how they affect the body and answer questions from the community.
