Federal Agency to Release Public Health Assessment

The Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) is seeking public comments on the health assessment of the W.R. Grace and Company site located in Acton, Massachusetts. The public health assessment (PHA) found that there is no apparent public health hazard in the drinking water in the municipal wells located near the former site of the W.R. Grace & Company.

The Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH) will hold a joint public meeting for members of the community to present the findings of a recently completed public health assessment (PHA) – public comment version and evaluation of cancer incidence at the W.R. Grace & Company, Inc. site in Acton, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.

A public meeting and availability session concerning the W.R. Grace site in Acton, Mass., will be held on Oct. 28 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Input gathered during the meeting will be included in the final public health assessment document.
