ATLANTA, GA The Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) reported today it found high levels of lead in the blood of some children who live close to the former Colorado Smelter in Pueblo, CO.

The Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR), a public health agency of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, will hold a public meeting to begin work on a community health education program for communities bordering the Pueblo Chemical Depot Site near Pueblo, Colorado. The meeting will take place at the old Boone Elementary School in Boone, Colorado, beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 17, 2000.
