In ATSDR's public health consultation, the agency concludes that there were no exposures to contaminants at levels of health concern for the Martin County Coal Co. site in Inez, Ky. ATSDR categorizes the site as not being an apparent public health hazard. The document evaluates environmental data and addresses community health concerns associated with a coal slurry spill that flooded area streams in 2000. The public comment period for the health consultation lasts through June 9, 2003.
