The Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) is seeking public comments on the health assessment of the W.R. Grace and Company site located in Acton, Massachusetts. The public health assessment (PHA) found that there is no apparent public health hazard in the drinking water in the municipal wells located near the former site of the W.R. Grace & Company.

The Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH) will hold a joint public meeting for members of the community to present the findings of a recently completed public health assessment (PHA) â public comment version and evaluation of cancer incidence at the W.R. Grace & Company, Inc. site in Acton, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.

A report released by the federal Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) says that people exposed to chemicals from the Naval Weapons Industrial Reserve Plant (NWIRP) in Bedford, Mass. are unlikely to become ill.

A public health assessment on Hanscom Air Force Base in Bedford, Mass., has been issued by ATSDR. The agency has determined that past exposure to surface soil is an indeterminate public health hazard because ATSDR scientists lacked sampling data about conditions before site remediation activities. However, ATSDR considers current and future contact with surface soil to pose no public health hazard.

A public health assessment on the Hanscom AFB site near Lexington, Mass., has been issued by ATSDR for public comment. The agency determined that contaminants in groundwater, surface soil, surface water and sediment pose no apparent public health hazard.

A public meeting and availability session concerning the W.R. Grace site in Acton, Mass., will be held on Oct. 28 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Input gathered during the meeting will be included in the final public health assessment document.
