ATLANTA, GA - The Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) has released a health consultation report, “Evaluation of Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) in Private Wells near the Saint-Gobain Site in Southern New Hampshire, Merrimack, New Hampshire”, for public comment. ATSDR will accept comments from the public until March 1, 2022.

The Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will hold a community information session to discuss the upcoming Pease Study. The study will evaluate the human health effects of exposure to the human-made chemicals per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in drinking water at the Pease International Tradeport in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. The meeting provides community members with the opportunity to ask questions and better understand the study, as well as find out if they are eligible to participate and sign up.

ATSDR is evaluating the public health impact of drinking water contaminated with perfluorinated chemicals (sometimes called PFAS or PFCs) at the Pease site and nearby wells. ATSDR staff will give the community an update on the site work and on the status of an upcoming public health assessment. These meetings are a way for the community to better understand what ATSDR is doing.

The Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR), a federal public health agency, is seeking volunteers to serve as members of the Community Assistance Panel (CAP) for Pease. ATSDR is evaluating the public health impact of drinking water contaminated with perfluorinated chemicals (PFCs) at the Pease site and nearby wells. The CAP is a way for the community to participate directly in ATSDR’s health activities related to exposures to the drinking water at the Pease International Tradeport site.

The New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services (NHDHHS) announced today the availability of a draft version of the public health assessment for the former Pease Air Force Base in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. NHDHHS completed this draft public health assessment as part of its cooperative agreement with the U.S. Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR).
