Produces persistent infection withour CPE in LLC-MK2 cells when media changed regularly. These chronically infected cells after 6-8 transfers were resistant to superinfection (plaque challenge) with Sindbis, Catu, Candiru, Chenuda, Soldado, and Congo viruses but susceptible to VS-Indiana and Cocal viruses (T.
