Site: Medical-
Violation: The ship does not have any bacterial specimen containers. Per the doctor, the containers had expired and a shipment was due to arrive on the vessel today.
Recommendation: Ensure that at least 10 clinical specimen collection containers for both viral and bacteriological agents (10 each), as well as the proper shipping containers and labels for same, are maintained by the medical staff.

Site: Potable Water-Cross-connection Control Program
Violation: Some of the devices listed in the cross-connection control program did not correspond with the devices that were installed at the connections. The program did not include air gaps.
Recommendation: Ensure that the cross-connection control program includes at minimum: a complete listing of cross-connections and the backflow prevention method/device for each, so that there is a match to the plumbing system component and location, and an inspection frequency. Ensure that air-gaps are included in the listing.

Violation: The depth markers were not visible from in the pool.
Recommendation: Ensure that the depth of each pool is prominently displayed so that it can be seen from the deck and in the pool. Ensure that depth markers are labeled in feet or meters, or both,. Additionally, ensure that depth markers are installed for every 1 m (3 feet) in change of depth.

Violation: The granular filters were not backwashed daily.
Recommendation: Ensure that granular filters are backwashed at least daily. Repeat backwashing, if necessary, until the water viewed through the sight glass or discharge point is clean flowing.

Violation: The yogurt machine was posted out of order for several months. The technician is due on board today.
Recommendation: Repair the yogurt machine.

Violation: The base molding to the coffee station cabinet was separating, leaving gaps, making cleaning difficult. This was corrected.

Violation: The final rinse pressure gauge on the in-use conveyor-type glasswasher registered 30 psi.
Recommendation: Ensure that pressure measuring devices that display the pressures in the water supply line for the fresh hot water sanitizing rinse have increments of 7 kilopascals (1 pounds per square inch) or smaller and are accurate to ± 14 kilopascals (± 2 pounds per square inch) in the 100-170 kilopascals (15-25 pounds per square inch) range.
