Site: DO NOT USE (whirlpool/spa)-Jacuzzi #3 Mechanical Room
Violation: There was a steady drip at the backflow prevention device on the potable water supply line. This was corrected.
Recommendation: Ensure that backflow preventers are maintained in good repair.

Violation: The hose was not labeled "Potable Water Only" at each end.
Recommendation: Ensure that potable water hoses are labeled for use with the words "potable water only" in letters at least 13mm (0.5 inch) at each connecting end.

Violation: There was no backflow prevention device for the potable water line supplying the boiler. This was corrected.

Violation: Children in diapers or who are not toilet trained were permitted in this pool. The staff had an approved variance letter dated 2003. However, there was a re-submission of the variance in 2005 and staff was unable to locate the new approved variance letter.
Recommendation: Ensure that the 2005 variance approval letter is maintained on the vessel.

Violation: A gap was noted on the side of the counter along the electrical outlets, making cleaning difficult.

Violation: The wood laminate at the waiter stations with the micro systems was worn and chipped, exposing the raw wood underneath and making cleaning difficult.
Recommendation: Ensure that nonfood-contact surfaces of equipment that are exposed to splash, spillage, or other food soiling or that require frequent cleaning are constructed of a corrosion-resistant, nonabsorbent, and smooth material.

Violation: The staff was using a bleach solution for sanitizing which had a Spanish label. Staff was unable to locate the Material Safety Data Sheet for this chemical.
Recommendation: Ensure that surfaces that children touch with their hands are cleaned and disinfected at least daily with products labeled by the manufacturer for that purpose.
