Site: Provisions-Prep Rooms and Store Rooms
Violation: Excellent conditions were observed in the operation and maintenance of the provisions and preparation rooms.

Violation: The backflow prevention device for the coffee machine had a constant drip at the intermediate vent.
Recommendation: Ensure that backflow preventers are maintained in good repair.

Site: Potable Water-Cross-Connection Control Program
Violation: The backflow prevention devices on the potable water supply for the suite whirlpool tubs were not listed on the cross-connection control program.
Recommendation: Ensure that the cross-connection control program includes at minimum: a complete listing of cross-connections and the backflow prevention method/device for each, so that there is a match to the plumbing system component and location, and an inspection frequency. Ensure that air-gaps are included in the listing.

Site: Potable Water-Cross-Connection Control Program
Violation: The devices listed on the cross connection control program for the garbage room did not match the devices located in that room. The program listed Watts B9 devices on the water line behind the wash sink and on the port and starboard sides of the garbage room. However, there were Watts N9 devices on the water line behind the wash sink and on the two spray hoses. In addition, there were two Watts 9D devices on the water supply lines to the faucets on the sorting table, and an atmospheric vacuum breaker on the bin washing machine that were not listed on the cross-connection control program.
Recommendation: Ensure that the cross-connection control program includes at minimum: a complete listing of cross-connections and the backflow prevention method/device for each, so that there is a match to the plumbing system component and location, and an inspection frequency. Ensure that air-gaps are included in the listing.

Site: Galley-Deck 5 - Beverage Service
Violation: There was a constant leak at the vent of the backflow preventer on ice machine supply line. The backflow preventer was replaced during the inspection.
Recommendation: Ensure that backflow preventers are maintained in good repair.

Violation: The shepherd's hook was not in a prominent location.
Recommendation: Ensure that an easy-access shepherd's hook and approved floatation device (with a length of line 1/2 the pool width or 16 m (50 feet)) is provided at a prominent location near each public swimming pool.

Violation: The proof box plastic bump rails were loose inside the proofing chamber creating a difficult to clean area.
Recommendation: Secure the bump rails inside the proofing chamber.

Violation: There was peeling sealant around the underside of the grooved grill.
Recommendation: Remove the peeling sealant and replace as necessary.

Violation: There was a wooden counter surface where drinks were placed for the customers. The finish on the wooden surface was worn in several places, exposing raw wood.
Recommendation: Ensure that nonfood-contact surfaces of equipment that are exposed to splash, spillage, or other food soiling or that require frequent cleaning are constructed of a corrosion-resistant, nonabsorbent, and smooth material. Apply a thicker surface of varnish to ensure a non-absorbent surface.

Violation: The hoses in the technical compartment were long and draped the floor of the compartment, making cleaning difficult.
Recommendation: Shorten the hoses or secure them above the floor of the compartment.

Violation: In the technical compartment for the center working counter, the pipes and the floor of the compartment near the pipes were soiled with a brown slimy material. This was corrected during the inspection.

Violation: The turning handle on the right tilting kettle was soiled along the back seam.

Violation: The area below the right coffee machine where pipes go through the counter top was soiled. This was corrected.

Violation: Along the bulkhead/equipment juncture under the grills, there was excess sealant that was peeling.

Site: Galley-Windjammer Pantry
Violation: On the left side of the 4-door upright refrigerators on the starboard side, the profile strip at the bulkhead juncture was loose. On the right side of the 4-door upright refrigerators on the port side, there was about a 1 inch space between the units and the bulkhead.
Recommendation: Ensure that decks, bulkheads, and deckheads in food preparation, warewashing, pantries, and storage areas are constructed and maintained for easy cleaning.

Violation: Soft sealant was used for coving on the deck/cabinet juncture in the bar.
Recommendation: Ensure that bulkheads and deckheads have smooth, hard finishes, and light colored surfaces.

Violation: There was no coving at the waiter area outside the pantry. Also, the lower part of the cabinet at the deck juncture was made of wood and was discolored from water damage.
Recommendation: Ensure that bulkhead and deck junctures are coved (including galleys, pantries, deck/counter junctures at buffets, bars, waiter stations, and dining room work counters). Seal the wood surface at the lower portion of the cabinet to ensure it is non-absorbent.

Violation: The removable trolley ramp in the area of the center waiter stations had old food debris below it.
Recommendation: Ensure that decks, bulkheads, deckheads, and attached equipment in food preparation, warewashing, pantries, and storage areas, are cleaned as often as necessary.
