Recommendation:
Ensure the AGE surveillance log entry for each passenger or crew member contain the following information in separate columns: (10) crew member position or job on the vessel, if applicable. Ensure the AGE surveillance log contains the above information in the exact order and is entered in the template in Annex 13.2.2. Ensure that the log data is exported in the exact order as in the example template in Annex 13.2.2 with analyzable formats such as Excel or Access. Ensure that any additional data fields are entered only outside of the form margins when exported to VSP.

Stripe or paint distillate and permeate lines directed to the potable water system in accordance with ISO 14726 (blue/gray/blue). Ensure no other lines have the above color designations. Stripe or paint these lines at 5 meters (15 feet) intervals and on each side of partitions, decks, and bulkheads, except where decor would be marred by such markings, including potable water supply lines in technical lockers.

The stainless-steel transport trolley for potable water bunkering hoses was not maintained smooth and easily cleanable. Difficult-to-clean pieces of duct tape were affixed over the top interior edges of this equipment, and liquid accumulated in the basin of the trolley since there was no drainage mechanism. Staff initiated corrective action.

Recommendation:
Construct all hoses, fittings, and water filters used in the bunkering of potable water of safe, easily cleanable materials approved for potable water use and maintain them in good repair.

Violation:
The recreational water facility shower serving swimming pool # 1, whirlpool spa # 2, and whirlpool spa # 3 was not functional due to a broken shower button. A guest attempted to use this shower, and water would not discharge. The nearest functioning shower was greater than 10 meters away. Staff initiated corrective action.

The metal bolt used to affix the plastic cover to the portside edge of swimming pool # 1 was corroding, and significant brown corrosion collected on the surrounding plastic. This plastic cover was submerged below the water level of the swimming pool.

Keep RWFs clean of debris, organic materials, and slime/biofilm in accessible areas in the water and on surfaces.

The potable water line supplying the pre-rinse hose, located adjacent to the bulkhead, was braided creating a difficult-to-clean surface in the rinse splash zone.

Recommendation:
Ensure nonfood-contact surfaces of equipment that are exposed to splash, spillage, or other food soiling or that require frequent cleaning are constructed of a corrosion-resistant, nonabsorbent, and smooth material. Ensure nonfood-contact surfaces are free of unnecessary ledges, projections, and crevices, and designed and constructed to allow easy cleaning and to facilitate maintenance.

The gasket on the front of the grill housing was peeling away, making the area hard to clean. Additionally, the barcode labels on all four grill covers were peeling off, making these areas difficult to clean.

Recommendation:
Ensure parameters for HOCL (concentration, contact time, pH, approved surfaces, and other applicable factors) are available and followed.
Ensure each vessel has a written OPRP that details standard procedures and policies to specifically address AGE onboard. Include the following in the written OPRP: (3) Disinfectant products or systems used, including the surfaces or items the disinfectants will be applied to, concentrations, and required contact times. Ensure the disinfectant products or systems are effective against human norovirus or an acceptable surrogate (e.g., caliciviruses).
