Ventilation-Deck 7 Fan Room 507
Violation:
The droplet collector in AC unit 507, serving the solarium galley, was soiled with black residue. Additionally, the bottom of the coil inside AC unit 510, serving passenger cabins, was soiled with thick pink residue. The units were on six-month cleaning schedules and are due for cleaning the month following the inspection.
These two units, as well as two other units in the room, were equipped with small, easily removable metal panels for inspection; however, visibility was limited, which did not allow for a full inspection of the area, which was written on the last inspection. The corrective action statement submitted by the cruise line after the previous inspection indicated inspection plates were added. The ship is scheduled for dry dock in April 2027.
Recommendation:
Ensure air handling unit condensate drain pans and collection systems are able to be accessed for inspection, maintenance, and cleaning. Install sight windows or use other effective methods to allow for full inspection of condensate collection pans when original equipment access makes evaluation during operational inspections impractical. Keep air handling units clean. Inspect evaporative condensers at least annually and clean as necessary to remove scale and sediment. Clean cooling coils and condensate pans as necessary to remove dirt and organic material.

Potable Water-Engine Room
Violation:
Several nonpotable water lines containing distillate water that were not directed to the potable water system were striped blue/grey/blue. Some lines were identified as 'service water' outside the striping.
Recommendation:
Stripe or paint potable water lines either in accordance with ISO 14726 (blue/green/blue) or blue only. Stripe or paint distillate and permeate water lines directed to the potable water system in accordance with ISO 14726 (blue/gray/blue). Ensure no other lines have the above color designations.
Stripe or paint these lines, including potable water supply lines in technical lockers, at 5-meters (16.4 feet) intervals and on each side of partitions, decks, and bulkheads, except where decor would be marred by such markings. Do not stripe or paint potable water lines after reduced pressure assemblies as potable water.
Identify all refrigerant brine lines and nonpotable chilled water lines in all food areas, such as on ice machines, ice cream machines, etc., with either ISO 14726 (blue/white/blue) or by another uniquely identifiable method to prevent cross-connections.

Recreational Water Facilities-Deck 9 Midship Pool and Solarium Pool
Violation:
Three flotation device's ropes were extremely difficult to unwrap by both the crew and the inspector, which was not practical in case of emergency. Additionally, the two flotation devices for the midship pool were not prominently placed and easily visible from the full perimeter of the pool. Lifeguards were stationed at both pools at the time of inspection.
Recommendation:
Provide a rescue or shepherd?s hook and an approved flotation device at a prominent location (visible from the full perimeter of the pool) at each RWF that has a depth of 1 meter (3.3 feet) or greater. Mount these devices in a manner that allows for easy access during an emergency. Ensure the approved flotation device includes an attached rope that is at least two-thirds of the maximum pool width.
