A CHLORINE RESIDUAL OF 0.12 WAS NOTED IN THE KIDS POOL NEXT TO THE CHILD ACTIVITY AREA. THERE WAS NO INDICATION AT THE POOL THAT IT WAS UNDER MAINTENANCE. THE POOL DID NOT HAVE A NET OVER IT OR A SIGN STATING THAT IT WAS NOT OPEN.
THE POOL RECORDS INDICATED THE POOL WAS UNDER MAINTENANCE.
PASSENGERS WERE NOT ABOARD THE VESSEL AT THE TIME OF THE INSPECTION.

Ensure a sign is posted or a net is placed over the pool during maintenance. Ensure that a free residual halogen of >1.0 and <5.0 mg/L (ppm) is maintained in recirculated swimming pools.

THE HALOGEN ANALYZER PROBE GOES INTO ISOLATION WHEN IT IS IN "SUPER BROMINE SHOCK MODE" AND MANUAL TESTS ARE NOT PERFORMED TO VERIFY THE 10 PPM CONCENTRATION.

Recommendation:
Ensure that the free residual halogen is increased to at least 10.0 mg/L (ppm) in whirlpool spas and circulated for at least 1 hour at the end of each day.
