ATSDR to Hold Open House About the Naval Construction Battalion Center Site in Gulfport, Miss.

August 19, 2004, the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) will hold an open house about the public comment version of its public health assessment for the Naval Construction Battalion Center (NCBC) site in Gulfport, Miss. The open house will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Isaiah Fredericks Community Center, 3312 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Gulfport. Members of the community are encouraged to attend the open house and will have the opportunity to ask questions about the public health assessment and to speak with staff from ATSDR and the Mississippi State Department of Health.

ATSDR representatives will meet one-on-one with community members concerned about possible health effects related to the Naval Construction Battalion Center in Gulfport, Miss. The public availability session will be held Oct. 7 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Isiah Fredericks Community Center, 3312 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Gulfport.
