ATLANTA—The Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) released a public health assessment report for the Dwyer Property Groundwater Plume site in Elkton, Maryland for public comment today. The federal agency invites the public to review the report and submit their comments until May 16, 2016.

Exposure to site-related chemicals in on-site buildings, soil, groundwater, surface water, storm water or stream sediment is not expected to cause harmful health effects for people who live or work near the Central Chemical Site in Hagerstown, Md., says the public comment version of the public health assessment released by the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR). The document will be available for public review and comment through June 10.

The federal public health agency reported that exposure to contamination in on-site surface soil, surface water and sediment is not at levels that might cause adverse health effects.

The Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) today released a public health assessment for public review and comment on the Curtis Bay Coast Guard Yard site in Baltimore.
ATSDR found that contamination in on-site surface soil, surface water and sediment poses "no apparent public health hazard." Contamination in fish and crabs poses no apparent public health hazard if the fish and crab are consumed in portions no greater than recommended by the fish advisories issued by the Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) for the entire Patapsco River basin, which includes the site.
