Potable Water-Spa Area
Violation:
The list of backflow prevention devices indicated that there were two Watts 9Ds installed for the potable water supply for the steam generators and the devices were located in the sauna technical rooms. Upon inspection of the technical rooms in both the men's and women's changing rooms, no devices were located and there was one steam generator in the men's room and two steam generators in the women's room. All three generators had connections for chemical aromatherapy liquid to mix with potable water. Staff stated that the two backflow preventers installed on the potable water lines to the hairwash sinks in the beauty salon also protected the potable water lines to the generators.
Recommendation:
Investigate the potable water lines and determine if the devices for the beauty salon hairwash sinks also protect the steam generator water lines. If not, install devices for the generators. Also, update the list of backflow prevention devices.
