Site: Medical-AGE Reportable Log
Violation: The AGE Log for the voyage dated 24 May to 8 June had different total passenger and crew numbers than those reported on the 24-hour report. Staff stated that the numbers reported on the 24-hour report were the correct ones.
Recommendation: Ensure the total number of passengers and total number of crew is accurate in the AGE Log and those numbers are those used in AGE reporting. These totals must be the totals at the beginning of the voyage (i.e., totals on ?date from?).

Site: Potable Water-Piping Identification
Violation: The potable water lines after the reduced pressure assembly to the filling lines of the Hydropool and Lido whirlpools were striped as potable water.
Recommendation: Do not stripe or paint potable water lines after reduced pressure assemblies as potable water.

Site: Provisions-Deck A - Baggage Area
Violation: Over ten wood pallets with beverages (e.g. water, wine) were stored in the baggage area directly under pipes and ducts that were peeling and heavily soiled with accumulated dust. Provisioning occurred on June 8. Staff stated they received a large amount of provisions that day and did not have adequate space to store them.
Recommendation: Protect food from contamination by storing the food: (1) Covered or otherwise protected; (2) In a clean, dry location; (3) Where it is not exposed to splash, dust, or other contamination; (4) At least 150 millimeters (6 inches) above the deck; (5) At least 127 millimeters (5 inches) for food in packages and working containers on pallets, skids, and racks; and (6) At least 150 millimeters (6 inches) above the deck on shelving racks.

These were: rack-type warewashing machines in Britannia Lower and Upper Platehouse, undercounter warewashing machine in Midship's Gin & Fizz Bar, undercounter warewashing machine in Crew Bar, undercounter warewashing machine in Pantry by 4103, undercounter warewashing machine in Pantry by 8073, hood-type warewashing machine in Pavilion Bar, flight-type warewashing machine in Grills Scullery, hoot-type warewashing machines in Queens Pantries #1 and #2, undercounter warewashing machine in Pantry by 4071, undercounter warewashing machine in Pantry by 6113, undercounter warewashing machine in Pantry by 7093, hoot-type warewashing machine in Grills/Lido Potwash, undercounter warewashing machine in Yacht Club, undercounter warewashing machine in Grills Dispense Bar, undercounter warewashing machine in Butcher Shop, hoot-type warewashing machines in Crew Scullery and Potwash.
Recommendation: Maintain warewashing equipment in good repair and proper adjustment, including: (1) warewashing equipment is maintained in a state of repair and condition that meets the standards of the materials, design, and construction of these guidelines; (2) water pressure and water temperature-measuring devices are maintained in good repair and accurate within the intended range of use.

Recommendation: Ensure only poisonous or toxic materials that are required for the operation and maintenance of a food area of the vessel, such as for the cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and utensils and the control of insects and rodents, are allowed in the food areas of the vessel.

Violation: More than a day's worth of food debris and residue was in the gaps between the metal deck plates and the opening of the food-only transport elevator.

Violation: Excessive condensate was on the deckhead light cover above the hood-type potwash machine. Water was observed dripping from the cover onto the top of this warewash machine.

Violation: Excessive condensate was seen on the deckhead in the frozen meat and poultry freezer. Sheets of plastic were laid on top of the food boxes to prevent the condensate from dripping on the boxes. Provisioning occurred on June 8.
Recommendation: Ensure decks, bulkheads, deckheads, and attached equipment in food preparation, warewashing, pantries, and storage areas are cleaned as often as necessary.

Violation: One small fly was observed flying around the area which was not in service at the time of the inspection.
Recommendation: Effectively control the presence of insects, rodents, and other pests to minimize their presence in the food storage, preparation, and service areas and warewashing and utensil storage areas aboard a vessel.
