Item No.: *
Site: Recreational Water Facilities-Deck 10 Main Pool With Fountain
Violation: The ship has a pool with a combined fountain. The pool is filled with salt water and only the compensation tank is filled with potable water only when the water level gets low. Salt water from the bottom of the pool is pumped to the fountain. When the facility is operated in sea-to-sea mode, water from the fountain is drained overboard. When the facility is operated in recirculation mode, water from the fountain is recirculated to the compensation tank. Two gravity drains at the base of the fountain lead to the compensation tank. Four overflow corner drains lead back into the pool. This fountain does not present an interactive feature to the pool. Also, if operated as a separate decorative fountain, it must be supplied with potable water. Options were discussed for the disposition of this fountain which will be shared with Carnival Cruise Lines.
