Site: Medical-
Violation: The total number of passengers and/or crew members on the acute gastroenteritis (AGE) surveillance log was different than the number on the 24-hour and 4-hour reports submitted to the CDC. For example (1) on the 22-29 July 2023 voyage, the AGE log had 4,685 passengers, but the 24-hour report had 4,696 passengers and the 4-hour report had 4,693 passengers; (2) on the 15-22 July 2023 voyage, the AGE log had 4,592 passengers and 1,666 crew, but the 24-hour report had 4,577 passengers and 1,674 crew.
Recommendation: Ensure the AGE surveillance log includes the total number of passengers, reportable total number of passengers ill, total number of crew, and reportable total number of crew ill. Total number of passengers and total number of crew must be the totals at the beginning of the voyage (i.e., totals on ?date from?).

Site: Galley-Deck 6 Room Service
Violation: The left side backflow prevention device in the multiflow cabinet was positioned so the relief vent could not properly drain. This was corrected before the end of the inspection.
Recommendation: Maintain backflow prevention devices in good repair.

Site: Recreational Water Facilities-Deck 17 Haven Pool
Violation: The water level was not to the skim gutter level across the entire pool.
Recommendation: For RWFs with skim gutters, ensure that the fill level of the RWF is to the level of the skim gutters.

Site: Galley-Deck 16 Garden Cafe Starboard Side Flight-type Dishwash
Violation: The final sanitizing rinse spray was not producing an adequate spray pattern due to low flow pressure. This was corrected before the end of the inspection.
Recommendation: Ensure the flow pressure of the fresh hot water sanitizing rinse in a warewashing machine is not less than 34.5 kilopascals (5 pounds per square inch or 0.34 bars) or more than 207 kilopascals (30 pounds per square inch or 2.07 bars) as measured in the water line immediately downstream or upstream from the fresh hot water sanitizing rinse control valve.

Site: Buffet-Deck 16 Observation Deck
Violation: The ice machine exit chute had a brown substance on it. The crew started cleaning this immediately.
Recommendation: Ensure food contact surfaces of equipment and utensils are clean to sight and touch.

Site: Dining Room-Deck 6 Teppanyaki
Violation: Teppanyaki tables 18 and 19 were previously cleaned, but had some small, dried food residue at the corners of the food-contact cooking surface.
Recommendation: Ensure food contact surfaces of equipment and utensils are clean to sight and touch.

Site: Pantry-FD 14-6-007
Violation: When the outside cover was removed from the ice machine, the technician placed it on the dirty landing of the warewash machine.
Recommendation: Store cleaned equipment and utensils, laundered linens, and single-service and single-use articles in a clean, dry location and in a location where they are not exposed to splash, dust, or other contamination.

Site: Galley-Deck 6 Potwash
Violation: When the inspector entered the area for the flight-type potwash machine, crew had paused operations because the deckhead was dripping from the corner of the return air exhaust cover above the clean landing. Crew removed the return air exhaust cover to check for condensate. No condensate was visible, but water dripped from the corner fastener. The flight-type potwash machine was taken out of service and a technician was called. Before the end of the inspection, crew advised the inspector the source of the dripping had been addressed and the machine was back in service.
Recommendation: Ensure decks, bulkheads, deckheads, and attached equipment in food preparation, warewashing, pantries, and storage areas are cleaned as often as necessary.

Site: Galley-Deck 15 Observation Lounge
Violation: A small fly was in the dry storage area next to the ice machine.
Recommendation: Effectively control the presence of insects, rodents, and other pests to minimize their presence in the food storage, preparation, and service areas and warewashing and utensil storage areas aboard a vessel.

Violation: The crevice between the diaper changing table and the portion attached to the bulkhead was soiled with debris.
Recommendation: Clean the changing table.

Site: Children Area-Diaper Changing Room
Violation: The crevice between the diaper changing table and the portion attached to the bulkhead was soiled with debris.
Recommendation: Clean and disinfect diaper changing, handwashing facilities, and toilet rooms daily and when soiled during use.
