Site: Galley-Deck 2
Violation: The bucket filling potable water supply pipe with threaded end did not have a backflow prevention device. This was at the handwashing station near the entrance to the crew mess.
Recommendation: Protect the potable water system against backflow or other contamination by backflow prevention devices or air gaps.

Violation: The sealant in the heat expansion zone of the flat top grill was rough and soiled.

Violation: The far right undercounter refrigerator door gasket was in disrepair.

Violation: The sealant around the mechanical access panel on the left of the tilting kettle's housing was peeling and rough which created a difficult to clean surface.

Violation: The laminate at Waiter Station 8 was peeling which created a rough and difficult to clean surface.

Violation: Seven food transportation carts had a total of nine open penetrations on the vertical supports. Some of the open penetrations were soiled with food debris and paper.
Recommendation: Ensure nonfood-contact surfaces are free of unnecessary ledges, projections, and crevices, and designed and constructed to allow easy cleaning and to facilitate maintenance.

Violation: The wooden back bar shelves were scored which made a difficult to clean surface. Additionally, there was more than a day's accumulation of dust on the upper back bar shelves.

Violation: The light intensity at the bulk coffee machine measured 170 lux and 90 lux at the juice dispensing machine.
Recommendation: Ensure the light intensity is at least 220 lux (20 foot candles) on food preparation surfaces, and at a distance of 75 centimeters (30 inches) above the deck in food preparation areas, handwashing facilities, warewashing areas, equipment, and utensil storage, pantries, toilet rooms, and consumer self-service areas.
