Site: Potable Water-Deck 10 Far Point
Violation: When testing the far point, it was difficult to capture an accurate reading from the halogen analyzer, because of the consistent fluctuating readings. The values were rapidly increasing and decreasing from a wide range of 1.60ppm to1.48ppm.The manual test however displayed a halogen residual level of 1.54ppm. Crew immediately recalibrated the machine.
Recommendation: Maintain the halogen analyzer-chart recorder properly and operate it in accordance with the manufacturer?s instructions. Conduct a manual comparison test daily to verify calibration.

Violation: The juice dispenser on the right had more than a day's worth of food debris on the food splash zone above the nozzles. The area was cleaned immediately. The area was not in operation.

Violation: Water dripped from a deckhead seam onto a preparation counter below. Additionally, water was leaking from the high fog sprinkler head from the deckhead connection and landed on the deck. No food was impacted.
Recommendation: Ensure nonfood-contact surfaces of equipment are kept free of an accumulation of dust, dirt, food residue, and other debris.

Site: Other-Deck 10 Staircase #41
Violation: A trolley cart of clean metal pan lids and plastic lids was stored next to the staircase where they could be contaminated by crew moving through the area. The manager responsible for these items was unaware of this placement and agreed to move accordingly.
Recommendation: Store cleaned equipment and utensils, laundered linens, and single-service and single-use articles: (1) in a clean, dry location; (2) in a location where they are not exposed to splash, dust, or other contamination; (3) at least 150 millimeters (6 inches) above the deck unless in packages on pallets, skids, or racks, which may be 127 millimeters (5 inches).

Site: Other-Deck 2 Garbage Room
Violation: An excessive amount of stored trash was seeping out the garbage storage room making the area not easily accessible to clean. During the time of inspection, the door to the storage room was open and blocked with piles of trash that reached the deckhead from the inside and outside. It was impossible for the inspector and crew to maneuver inside the storage room. Trash was blocking many entrances to washing stations and the sorting tables. The person in charge of this area stated loads of trash had accumulated because of the 3 week dry dock. They plan on offloading as much trash by the end of the day, 28 March 2024.
Recommendation: Ensure the garbage and refuse storage room is large enough to store and process the garbage and refuse. Ensure the garbage and refuse storage room is maintained in good repair and kept clean.

Violation: The rat guard on the aft mooring line did not have a tight fitting closure.
Recommendation: Protect entry points where pests may enter the food areas. Ensure rat guards are not staggered on adjacent lines and a group of lines do not merge onto one rat guard.
