On 11 December, a food worker experienced symptoms of acute gastroenteritis (AGE) while off duty and reported to medical immediately

On 12 December, a nonfood worker was working in a public area, experienced vomiting and diarrhea while on duty, and reported to medical immediately.
There was no documentation of the medical team notifying housekeeping of the incident locations. There was no documentation of housekeeping responding to these incidents or documentation of where these incidents occurred (e.g. disinfecting the worker's duty area, disinfecting a nearby restroom, disinfecting their cabin). Medical crew reported that housekeeping will clean and disinfect the crew member's cabin daily once they are notified by medical, but the index vomit/diarrhea incident clean-ups were not documented.

Recommendation:
When guests/crew report to medical with symptoms of acute gastroenteritis (AGE), the medical team should ask the patient where symptoms occurred and subsequently relay this information to housekeeping for disinfection of the area. Housekeeping should then document this response.

On 7 December, housekeeping responded to a vomit incident in a stateroom; however, there was no documentation from medical that they followed-up with the passenger.
On 11 December, a passenger vomited on the port side Windjammer floor and was identified by crew. However, there was no documentation from medical team that they followed-up with the passenger.

Recommendation:
Investigate all public vomiting and public diarrhea incidents and ensure the ill passenger is appropriately followed-up with by medical. Document the follow-up. Ensure a reportable case of AGE is a case reported to the master of the vessel, the medical staff, or other designated staff by a passenger or a crew member and meets the case definition based on the following symptoms: (1) Diarrhea (three or more episodes of loose stools in a 24 hour period or what is above normal for the individual. See section 4.1.2.1.3, illness symptoms); or (2) vomiting and one additional symptom including one or more episodes of loose stools in a 24-hour period, or abdominal cramps, or headache, or muscle aches, or fever (temperature of greater than or equal to 38C [100.4F]).
