Item No.: 08
Site: Potable Water-Cross Connection Log
Violation: The entire nontestable devices log did not have inspection results that stated if these devices passed a visual inspection within the past year. In addition, the following areas had backflow prevention devices disinfected and replaced but were not updated in the cross connection log: - Deck 16 Disco Pantry backflow prevention device was replaced 10 October 2025 but the log stated 06 June 2025 - Deck 8 Two Passenger Cabins backflow prevention devices were replaced 04 October 2025 but the log stated 19 June 2025. - Deck 6 Main Galley a backflow prevention device was replaced 30 October 2025 but the log stated 19 June 2025.
Recommendation: Ensure the cross-connection control program includes at a minimum, a complete listing of cross-connections and the backflow prevention method or device for each, so there is a match to the plumbing system component and location. Include air gaps on the listing. Set a schedule for inspection frequency. Maintain a log documenting the inspection and maintenance in written or electronic form and ensure it is available for review during inspections. Retain the visual inspection and/or test results for backflow prevention devices and air gaps for at least 12 months and ensure they are available for review during inspections.
Item No.: 10
Site: Recreational Water Facilities-Deck 14 - Bay Pool and Main Pool
Violation: The rope for the flotation device was difficult to unravel, making it not easily accessible during an emergency. Additionally, one of the two Bay Pool flotation devices did not include an attached rope at least two thirds of the maximum pool width.
Recommendation: Provide a rescue or shepherd?s hook and an approved flotation device at a prominent location (visible from the full perimeter of the pool) at each RWF that has a depth of 1 meter (3.3 feet) or greater. Mount these devices in a manner that allows for easy access during an emergency. Ensure the pole of the rescue or shepherd?s hook is long enough to reach the center of the deepest portion of the pool from the side plus 0.6 meters (2 feet). Ensure it is a light, strong, nontelescoping material with rounded, nonsharp ends. Ensure the approved flotation device includes an attached rope that is at least two-thirds of the maximum pool width. Ensure the rescue or shepherd?s hook is long enough to touch the bottom center of the deepest portion of the RWF plus 0.6 meters (2 feet) as measured from the closest edge without an obstruction. This edge can only be used for measurement if someone could freely walk down both sides without an obstruction such as a waterfall, fountain, statue, etc. For a rectangular pool, ensure the shorter distance is measured from the long side of the rectangle as long as there are no obstructions. Measure the 0.6 meters (2 feet) distance from where the shepherd?s hook crosses the fill line of the RWF. Measurements can be from the edge of the tub for RWFs with a beach level.
