ATSDR To Hold A Public Availability Session In Alberton, Montana On May 22 Aand 23

The Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR), a public health agency of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, will conduct public availability sessions in the Alberton, Montana, area on May 22 and 23.

ATSDR will hold the sessions to discuss the Alberton Medical Intervention and Health Evaluation, which was offered to the community in August, 1999. Dr. Cynthia Lewis-Younger, with the University of Utah (Association of Occupational and Environmental Clinics), will be on hand to present a summary report of her findings and to answer questions related to the program. The summary report has been released for public review and comment on May 1, 2000.

The public availability sessions will take place as follows:

Public availability sessions are not intended to be large-scale meetings. Instead, community members are invited to drop in at any time during the session and meet one-on-one with ATSDR staff and Dr. Lewis-Younger to discuss health and site concerns. Attendance is open to the public.
