"Gloves, welder's, leather, gauntlet"
This commercial item description covers one type of welder's gloves. The gloves are intended for use as work gloves by welders.
Description of requirements for selected commercial items to be purchased by the Department of Defense entities.
All equipment and/or accessories (whether or not detachable) designed and manufactured specifically to protect the arm and/or the hand this includes all garments protecting the hand or part of the hand, including gloves, fingerless gloves, mittens, garments protecting the fingers only or the palm only, etc. Potential hazards include skin absorption of harmful substances, chemical or thermal burns, electrical dangers, bruises, abrasions, cuts, punctures, fractures and amputations.

Conformance: The contractor shall certify and maintain substantiating evidence that the product offered meets the salient characteristic of this commercial item description and conforms to the producer’s own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to the first delivery and thereafter as maybe otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract.
Visual Examination: Each glove shall be examined for various defects detailed in the section 5.2.
