"Hoods, Extreme Cold Weather, Impermeable "
This specification covers the requirements for two types of cold weather hoods which incorporate a waterproof barrier outer material of coated nylon twill and a knitted nylon fleece lining.
An explicit set of requirements to be satisfied by a material, product, system, or service: Examples of specifications include, but are not limited to, requirements for; physical, mechanical, or chemical properties, and safety, quality, or performance criteria. A specification identifies the test methods for determining whether each of the requirements is satisfied.
All equipment and/or accessories (whether or not detachable) designed and manufactured specifically to protect the head (typically from impact). This includes hard hats that protect from impact and penetration hazards as well as from electrical shock and burn hazards.

Inspection: Various inspections and tests are required as specified in the document. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements (examinations and tests) as specified herein. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in this specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to ensure’ supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. Unless otherwise specified, sampling for inspection shall be performed in accordance with MIL-STD-1667.
Certification: When certificates of compliance are submitted, the Government reserves the right to inspect such items to determine the validity of the certification.
