All done! Proceed to Part 3: Nurse Confides in Colleague.

Question 1: In the previous video the nurses ignore a fundamental safety precaution. Did you spot it?

Mr. Avery is blocking the doorway. This is potentially unsafe unless this room has a second exit. A better solution would have been to talk to Mr. Avery in the hallway or have him take a seat at a safer location in the room away from the doorway.

Question 2: The Nurse Manager does a good job verbalizing her concerns to Mr. Avery but she makes a mistake in her body language. Did you spot it?

She initially crosses her arms which can be interpreted as defensive or aggressive. She eventually realizes this and relaxes her posture. Nurse Jones's body language is relaxed and non-threatening throughout the encounter.

Question 3: In speaking to Mr. Avery how was Nurse Jones able to recognize his concerns?

Nurse Jones acknowledged Mr. Avery's anxiety about his wife's health. This empathic recognition of concerns can help deescalate delicate situations.
