Under a magnification of 58X, this scanning electron microscopic (SEM) image depicted some of the ultrastructural exoskeletal characteristics displayed on the head region of an unidentified beetle, found in the suburbs of Decatur, Georgia. In this particular view, were protuberances emanating from one of the insect's mandibles.
