Caption:
This historic 1965 photograph, depicted two laboratory technicians in the process of conducting a quantitative analysis, upon donor capillary blood samples, for the presence of cyanomethemoglobin. See PHIL 12142 for a close-up image depicting the collection of the capillary blood, using an Unopette® disposable pipette. Modern day protocols now call for the laboratorian executing such tasks, to wear additional personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety goggles, and a facemask.
