Standing in the yard of the World Health Organization (WHO) Residence located in Dhaka, Bangladesh, were two members of the Smallpox Eradication Team, David Fletcher (at left), from the United Kingdom, and Dr. Michael Schwartz, from the United States.

PHIL images 1191, 3258, 5664, and 12290 through 12367, were supplied by Dr. Michael Schwartz, and capture the epidemiologic-related activities undertaken by healthcare providers from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO), and local Bangladeshi healthcare workers, during their successful attempt to eradicate smallpox.
