From the “Illustrated Manual for the Recognition and Diagnosis of Certain Animal Diseases”, published in 1982, by the Mexico-United States Commission for the Prevention of Foot and Mouth Disease, this photograph, taken during a necropsy, depicts the left ventral surface a bovine’s tongue, revealing the erosive changes of the inferior and lateral lingual mucosa, due to a bovine viral diarrhea (BVD) infection.
