This 1968 photograph depicts the plantar surface of the right foot of a 5-week-old, Washington State male patient, who after receiving a smallpox vaccination, developed an erythema multiforme reaction. In this particular view, note how the maculopapular rash had spread to the plantar surface of his right foot. Also, see PHIL 13334 and 13335, for additional views of this patient’s rash.
