This woman was in the process of cutting a fresh, thoroughly-washed ripe red tomato, atop a clean cutting board in her kitchen. She was about to add it to the glass bowl in the background, which at this point in the preparation, contained salad greens, broccoli, purple onion, chopped carrots, and just-added cranberries. It is very important to prepare foods in as clean an environment as possible, thereby, minimizing the introduction of foodborne contaminants into the food preparation process.
