Captured in 2008, this image depicts the sink in the corner of a 4-man cabin inside the officer’s berthing, on the USS Kearsarge (LHD 3), an amphibious assault ship that was supporting the Caribbean phase of operation Continuing Promise 2008 (CP08). The operation was an equal partnership mission between the United States, Canada, the Netherlands, Brazil, Nicaragua, Panama, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Trinidad and Tobago and Guyana. The image was provided by, U.S. Public Service (USPHS) Lt. Cmdr. Gary Brunette, who photographically documented his trip throughout the Caribbean, as he, and his fellow USPHS officers delivered much needed healthcare to inhabitants in the region.
