This tanker was utilizing the Intercoastal Canal in Port Arthur, Texas. The image was used in a Centers for Disease Control (CDC) teaching aid entitled, “Minimizing Risks of Vector-borne Disease in Water Resource Developments”. Water resource developments, including canals, rivers, lakes, and streams, can become breeding grounds for disease carrying vectors such as mosquitoes, which makes the control of these insects a paramount concern, especially for those, who use these bodies of water for business, as was the case here, or pleasure.
