This photomicrograph of an unknown sample revealed the presence of a mixed infection, which included Gram-positive, Peptostreptococcus anaerobius, and P. asaccharolyticus, formerly Peptococcus asaccharolyticus, and anaerobic, Gram-negative, Prevotella melaninogenica, formerly Bacteroides melaninogenicus, bacteria.
