Under a magnification of 1000X, this Prussian blue-stained bone marrow tissue sample, revealed the presence of normal amounts of iron storage having taken place. The presence of iron is normal within the bone marrow microenvironment, for iron is a key constituent in the formation of the hemoglobin molecule, which is contained in the blood’s red blood cells (RBCs), and is the molecule responsible for the transport of oxygen to all parts of the body.
